2023 Advocacy Days

2023 Advocacy Days May 17-18, 2023

Raleigh, NC
Registration Deadline: 05/01/2023 11:59 PM

Have you ever wondered who would be the best person to advocate for people with bleeding disorders? That person is you!

You do not need to have any experience or know anything about the issues. The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of NC (BDFNC) staff and speakers will give you all the information you need. You already know about living with a bleeding disorder, all that you have to do is share your experience. Legislators want to hear about the issues that affect you. Donā€™t worry about having to go in alone! You will be grouped with folks who have varying amounts of experience, and there will always be someone in the group who is well versed about the issues.

May 17 – 6:30pm – Raleigh (hotel TBA)
Training session & dinner
* Hotel accommodations available upon request through May 1 for attendees traveling over 30 miles who will be attending both the training & Advocacy Day.

May 18 – 8:45am to 3:00pm – NC Legislature
BDFNC will have a booth at the NC Legislature to raise awareness among the legislators and general public about issues in the bleeding disorder community. We will begin with a briefing at 8:45am at the BDFNC booth. Following this, BDFNC members will meet with their legislators and staff in small groups.

BDFNC is a statewide organization, so we need members from throughout the state to come to Raleigh and represent our community with their district representatives. In addition to educating legislators about bleeding disorders, BDFNC will advocate for expanded healthcare access (Medicaid Expansion).

Use YOUR voice and YOUR story to remind our legislators to consider the bleeding disorders community when making important decisions on behalf of the residents of their district.
