Scholarships for the 2026-27 school year are closed.
The application for 2027-28 scholarships will be available beginning in January 2027.
Scholarship Information – BDFNC administers three scholarships:
1. George D. McCoy Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Candidate eligibility: Persons diagnosed with mild, moderate, or severe hemophilia A. The applicant does not need to be a North Carolina resident.
2. Optum Infusion Pharmacy Scholarships
Amount: $20,000 to be distributed in awards of $500 to $3,000
Candidate eligibility: Persons affected by a bleeding disorder including anyone who: has been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder; is a caregiver of a child or adult diagnosed with a bleeding disorder; or has a sibling or a parent in the same household diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. At least one scholarship will be awarded to an applicant pursuing education in a health-related field. The applicant does not need to be a North Carolina resident.

General Information applicable to all scholarships administered by BDFNCÂ
All students will complete the same application. The committee will automatically consider you for each scholarship if you are so eligible.
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and need. All applicants are required to submit a completed FAFSA form, even if they are not applying for federal aid.
