Medicaid Expansion: What is it and why does it matter?

Medicaid Expansion: What is it and why does it matter? June 2, 2022 -- 7:00pm

Virtual (Zoom)
Registration Deadline: 06/01/2022 12:00 AM

Join us for dinner on Zoom to learn about one of the most pressing issues in North Carolina healthcare: Medicaid Expansion, or the lack thereof. The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina (BDFNC) has been advocating for Medicaid Expansion in NC for many years now, and we are closer than ever to succeed in getting health coverage for those who need it most! But BDFNC needs YOUR help and YOUR voice to help explain why health coverage is so important to the bleeding disorders community. Even if you aren’t personally affected by the lack of Expansion, legislators want to hear from their constituents about why it’s important — and you can talk about how if you needed Medicaid but weren’t eligible, how that would impact your ability to care for your bleeding disorder.

During the Zoom session, we’ll break down exactly what Medicaid Expansion is, why it’s important, and how you can help. Please know that absolutely no experience is needed to advocate; all you need to do is be able to share your story. Join us on June 2 to learn why your voice is so important!

BDFNC consumer members who attend this event will receive a gift card for DoorDash, GrubHub, or Uber Eats ($15 per person, $40 max per family). Gift cards will be distributed by email at the conclusion of the event. Note: Gift cards are available only to BDFNC members who live in North Carolina or receive care at a North Carolina treatment center. Persons employed by a pharmaceutical company, specialty pharmacy, or home care company, or who work for a bleeding disorders treatment center are not eligible.

Registration is closed. Please contact the BDFNC office to see if space is available.
