Clinical Trials and You: Advancing von Willebrand Disease Research
Von Willebrand disease (vWD) was discovered in 1926. 100 years later, many bleeding disorders are still waiting for real innovation. New therapies for bleeding disorders are developed through a process called drug development. Drug development involves many steps, including the critical step of human participation. This presentation will hopefully demystify the complex process of drug development that is necessary for the approval of safe and effective human therapies. New approaches to von Willebrand disease will be highlighted. This talk will be open to all members of the bleeding disorders community, especially those with underserved bleeding disorders, including vWD, Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, and FVII deficiency.
