Speak up! Advocating For Yourself and Others: At age 35, Kimberly’s hematologist diagnosed her with Type I VWD. At first, Kimberly was angry that so many doctors had missed the warning signs, but she also realized she had to become an advocate for herself. That led her to pursue treatment options and learn how to self-infuse; it also led her to get her children tested. When four were diagnosed with VWD, she used everything she’d learned to advocate for them.
