Rick and his wife, Sue, are originally from Chicago and have had a home in Kure Beach, NC, since 2002. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Kent State University in Ohio. During his 43-year career with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Rick and his family relocated 24 times, living in eight different countries across four continents—all with one wife. They have one daughter, “Crickett,” who lives with her husband, Shane, in Redondo Beach, CA. Crickett and Shane welcomed their first child, Millie, in 2025. Rick has Hemophilia A and decades of experience with the evolving treatment technologies available for the condition. He also volunteers at their local American Legion Post and at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wilmington.
