Anita Smith, BSN, RN-BC, CPNP
Anita Smith recently retired from Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after 39 years as a program coordinator/nurse practitioner for the comprehensive hemophilia diagnostic and treatment center. She has been involved with BDFNC over the years as a former volunteer board member, member of the NC Advisory Board for Bleeding Disorders, speaker at various BDFNC educational events, as well as a walk team leader and lead fundraiser for team “Wake Walkers”. She has served as a medical volunteer for bleeding disorder sessions at Victory Junction Camp since the camp opened in 2004 and is currently a volunteer member of the Victory Junction Medical Resource Group. Anita feels blessed that the majority of her nursing career has been dedicated to individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders and looks forward to serving this community once again on the board of directors. Anita has been married to Tim for the better part of 42 years and counting. They live in Kernersville. They have 2 grown children, 3 beautiful granddaughters, and a sweet toy poodle, Sammy. Anita enjoys reading, walking, spending time with family, and looking for new activities in retirement.
